Should the Indian govt. stand behind Dr. Haneef in his ordeal?

Dr Haneef is the Indian in custody in Australia under suspicion of helping the terrorists in London & Glasgow bombing . All the evidence in this case are circumstantial, is he being held unfairly?

First , if he is innocent I feel bad for him but all the evidence shows that he could be guilty and law enforcement personnel have the responsibility to investigate and to prevent crime . Dr Haneef needs to cooperate in the investigation guilty or not. More so that he can clear his tarnished name/image.

Indian govt. should be involved in helping the investigation whether he is guilty or not. Indian govt. should take a leaf out of the U.S govt. book. They always stand behind their citizens - guilty or not. If he is guilty, he should face the music and if he is not his name should be cleared. Till he is proved guilty, our govt. should help him in every way as if he is innocent. He is a suspect and not a criminal till he is proved guilty.

  1. Great news . Dr Haneef is acquitted of all charges . Indian govt. stood behind its citizen. Good job.

It is unfortunate that he had to go through this ordeal . Australian govt had to do its jobs to make sure it investigates any suspect.

An official apology from the Australian govt. will be the right thing to do for the ordeal Dr Haneef went through
