Irresponsible journalism

I am sick to my stomach with kind of reporting which was done by CNN-IBN . I didn't follow any other channel but as the events unfolded, the whole operation was shown live. There was no disciplined journalism. All the terrorists needed to do was to switch on a TV to find out what operation was being planned. They were even predicting what was going to happen based on the things which were happening around them. It was like they were trying to analyse the whole situation for the terrorists.

There should be some responsible journalism. There was one guy who talked to one of the foreigners who was caught inside the Taj Hotel . This journalist is asking him where his room is in the hotel (live on TV). Will not the terrorist holed up in the hotel know where this person is ? Are you not putting his life in danger ?

  1. As time went on there was better jugement made in the CNN-IBN coverage.

  2. They were showing the raid of Nariman house live. The suprise factor is the main weapon in any raid/confrontation and CNN coverage was not helping the whole situation

You can blame the messenger if you want, but think about who gave the information to the journalists. I don't see you criticizing the government for handing out information and giving reporters access to everything. If the military, police and civil officials had enforced a news blackout or limited the number of authorized individuals permitted to talk with the press, then the prese would only be able to report that. The reporters were doing their job while the politicians, army and military folks blabbed and got their TV time.
